Clive Nichols is branching into the art world by launching a collection of limited edition and fine art prints of macro flower photography, at an exhibition in the Cotswolds.
Hosted by Bookseller of the Year, Jaffé & Neale in Oxfordshire's market town of Chipping Norton, the exhibition which is called "Up Close and Personal" will run from 30 June 2008 to 20 July 2008 and will feature a range of stunning shots on canvas and as fine art prints.
Clive will make a special guest appearance at the bookshop and gallery on Saturday 12 July 2008 when he will host a special photo clinic. The idea of the clinic is for amateur and professional photographers to come along with their cameras and photographs and have a short session discussing technique with Clive. The clinic runs from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
The pictures for the exhibition have been selected by David Leedham of colour specialist, ColourMaster Images from Leicestershire, who print Clive's images exclusively on 100% Cotton Canvas and on Fine Art Paper.
The images chosen show how the vivid and varied array of colours available in nature can be used together to create maximum impact. David Leedham said: "Customers will see, how colours adjacent to each other on the colour wheel, such as yellows and oranges can create harmonious images, whilst colours from opposite sides of the colour wheel such as Reds and Greens and Yellows and Blues, complement each other to create stunning floral displays and as such, the exhibition aims to inspire both photographers and gardeners to experiment with colour through their own photography and within their own garden".
Jaffé & Neale was voted the Independent Bookseller of the Year in 2007 and is local MP and conservative leader, David Cameron's favourite bookshop. Co-owner Polly Jaffé said: "We are delighted to be involved with Clive. Initiatives like this enable us to keep a competitive edge against the bigger players on the high street". |
